Why are PesaShambani® branches so important?
PesaShambani® members are the lifeblood of the organisation. Branches enable members to:
• Interact with other members of the local farming community
• Gain information about PesaShambani® initiatives
• Voice opinions and influence policy formation
• Coordinate local activities
• Generate ideas and identify local issues impacting on branch members
• Celebrate farming success
• Develop further business skill
The PesaShambani® is a member organization that supports farmers and families within the farming community through difficult times.
We have a network of over 400 Agricultural Extension Officers across Kenya, many of whom are involved in farming, or have close links with agriculture, and therefore have a great understanding of the issues farm workers and farming families regularly face.
Since 2000, we have helped thousands of people deal with a variety of issues, including financial difficulties, animal disease, mental health and family disputes. Our volunteers will “walk with” you and help you find a positive way through your problems – for as long as it is needed.
Much of this work goes on quietly and with little recognition but its value cannot be overestimated. Many people have their health, their families, their future and their very lives intact because of the care, support and friendship they have received from a PesaShambani® Extension Officer.
In addition to local groups of volunteers, PesaShambani® provides a confidential, national telephone Helpline which is available from 7.00 am until 11.00 pm every day of the year.
PesaShambani® is your reliable partner, which has been working in the farming community since 2000. It is overseen by various Agricultural Experts. PesaShambani® is based in Nairobi where a small team undertakes the administrative functions led by a Chief Executive.
PesaShambani® has a clear professional ethos in all it does. All its services are made available to those in need from all faiths or none in a supportive, non-judgmental, non-proselytising manner.
PesaShambani® is part of the Farming Help group of national farm support. Working together with DAIRYPESA SACCO in the farming community; we provide a wide range of complementary support. PesaShambani® also works with and alongside many other organisations in order to provide the best available help in each individual situation. This includes professional advice and support where appropriate.
